FLOOD HAZARDS ASSESSMENT AND RESIDENTIAL FLOOD DAMAGE MAPPING IN HITOYOSHI PREFECTURE, JAPAN

چکیده
Natural disasters are one of the things that have risks and hazards to population. This study aims simulate flood hazard calculate its impact on Hitoyoshi area, Japan residential areas. was chosen as case because area experienced a catastrophic in 2020 destroyed city. The calculation this is also based mapping land function, damage buildings, building materials, especially areas affected by floods city Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto. results indicate how much risk will be caused flooding, with simulations carried out ArcGIS software. In addition, simulated map overlaid buildings determine Area. research provide input for Japanese institution increasing natural against floods, dealing future disasters. Simulations been flooding making validating it prove accuracy data expected used applied several other countries besides Japan.

“ Assessment of economic flood damage ”
Damage assessments of natural hazards supply crucial information to decision support and policy development in the fields of natural hazard management and adaptation planning to climate change. Specifically, the estimation of economic flood damage is gaining greater importance as flood risk management is becoming the dominant approach of flood control policies throughout Europe. This paper revi...
متن کاملFlood damage assessment for Dhaka City, Bangladesh
Flood damage assessment is a key component in the development of city flood risk management strategies. A flood damage assessment model is being developed by combining flood hazard information (depth, extent, velocity, duration, etc.) with geographic information (land use/cover, buildings, infrastructure, etc.), social-economic data and population demographics to estimate urban flood impacts. I...
متن کاملFlood damage , vulnerability and risk perception - challenges for flood damage research
The current state-of-the-art in flood damage analysis mainly focuses on the economic evaluation of tangible flood effects. It is contended in this discussion paper that important economic, social and ecological aspects of flood-related vulnerabilities are neglected. It is a challenge for flood research to develop a wider perspective for flood damage evaluation.
متن کاملComparative flood damage model assessment: towards a European approach
There is a wide variety of flood damage models in use internationally, differing substantially in their approaches and economic estimates. Since these models are being used more and more as a basis for investment and planning decisions on an increasingly large scale, there is a need to reduce the uncertainties involved and develop a harmonised European approach, in particular with respect to th...
متن کاملFlood hazards and masonry constructions: a probabilistic framework for damage, risk and resilience at urban scale
This paper deals with the failure risk of masonry constructions under the effect of floods. It is developed within a probabilistic framework, with loads and resistances considered as random variables. Two complementary approaches have been investigated for this purpose: – a global approach based on combined effects of several governing parameters with individual weighted contribution (material ...
